Back by popular demand, guest instructor, Bruce McCorkell, will join us once again to share his knowledge of gemstone carving. This 2-day weekend intensive will be followed by a 1-day setting class for non-standard stones with Juvelisto School of Metal Arts instructor, Kelly Allanson.
In this program, students will learn a brief history of gemstone carving, how to design a carving based on their chosen gem material, how to use the necessary tools and equipment to achieve their vision, and even how to make their own polishing tools! In the follow-up class, students will learn to create a setting for their uniquely shaped gemstone creations so they can be proudly worn as jewellery pieces.
No experience is necessary for this class, so whether you're totally new to gemstones and jewellery or are looking to take your jewellery designs to the next level, this course is for you!
