Your favourite piece of jewellery may be a strand of classic pearls or an ornately beaded necklace. Over time, the friction caused by daily wear can cause the beading chord to wear out on these beloved pieces.
At Juvelisto, our experienced staff is happy to provide a professional bead restringing service so that you may continue to wear your necklaces for years to come. If you have lost any beads, we can source similar ones to replace them or we can reconfigure your necklace design with new beads.
Stringing Pearls
When restringing your best-loved strand of pearls, we use a durable silk chord and a traditional knotting technique. Since pearls are quite soft and susceptible to abrasion, tying a knot between each one prevents them from rubbing up against each other and damaging the surface of the adjacent pearls.
Another reason that we restring pearls with knots is to prevent the entire strand from falling to the ground if the cord breaks. If this does happen you will need to have your necklace restrung, but you will feel extremely fortunate to have lost only one or two pearls! In addition, knotting lessens the strain from the weight of the pearls on the cord.
Juvelisto bead restringing and pearl restringing services are charged at a flat rate, based on how many inches need to be strung.
